  • Scott Grandpre - Founder + Club Director

    Scott Grandpre is widely recognized as one of the most influential volleyball coaches in the New England region. His passion for fostering safe and enjoyable volleyball programs has seen him extend his coaching reach to a multitude of athletes. After relocating to Boston to assume the head coaching role at Simmons University, Scott identified a significant need for high-quality volleyball training. This inspired him to establish Boston UVC to meet this demand.

    In furtherance of his objective, Scott founded two other organizations, New England Youth Volleyball (NEYV) and New England AAU Volleyball (NEAAU). His extensive experience includes coaching at both D1 and D3 levels. In 2021, Scott received recognition for his excellent coaching prowess when he was named the GNAC Coach of the Year in his final college season at Simmons University. He previously coached at the University of Rhode Island and Sacred Heart University (Men and Women’s teams), played at the D1 level and holds multiple records @ Sacred Heart University, and was named the MVP of the New England Region as a High School athlete.

  • Dave Parnell - Girls 10-14 Club Director + Director of Operations

    Dave serves as the U10-U14 Girls Director as well as the Head Coach for our 14 National Team.

    Dave is the point of contact for all 12's-14's Girls teams. Dave recently moved from Portland, Oregon and previously coached for Athena Volleyball Academy where he was the 12 Gold Head Coach and U12 Training Director. In addition to Dave’s club experience, he also coached at the high school level as both a JV Head Coach and Varsity Assistant at a state championship program. Dave brings over 20 years of coaching experience with him to UVC. During his time in Oregon, his teams were ranked in the top 100 Nationally. Most recently, his 12 Gold teams finished 6th place finish at Colorado Crossroad National qualifier in 2017, finished #1 in the CEVA Region in 2018 and in the top 5 regionally in 2019

  • Emma Smallcomb - Girls 15-18 Club Director + Camp Director + Recruiting Director

    We are thrilled to have Emma continue in her role as Director of all 15-18 Girls teams. In addition to this role, Emma is our camp director and recruiting coordinator.

    Emma is the Brandeis University Assistant Coach. At Brandeis, Emma is responsible for recruiting and has brought in a highly competitive recruiting class in her first season while also practicing planning and heading up team strategy.

    Emma Smallcomb is a double graduate of Sacred Heart University with a distinguished NCAA Division I Volleyball career. Emma played for the Pioneers after being a standout high school athlete in the state of Massachusetts, earning Gatorade Player of the Year in 2017. Emma was a 5-year starting Libero and Team Captain at Sacred Heart and holds the single-season and all-time school record for digs. As a 3-time NEC Conference champion and an All-Conference selection each year, she led her team to the 2019 and 2021 NCAA Women’s Volleyball Tournament.

  • Phil George - Boys Club Director + Director of Club Culture

    Phil is the new Boys Director for the UVC program. He is a California native who began his east coast playing career at Boston College, where he was the captain and president of the BC Club Team. He was named first-team all-New England 3 years, New England MVP, and won two New England Collegiate Volleyball League championships before moving on to playing at the adult level and winning two New England Open championships as an outside hitter before pausing his playing career to have a family. 

    Phil coached the Boston College club team to three New England championships, including two undefeated seasons. He then co-coached the SMASH U-18s team for 6 years, winning 5 NERVA championships. He began coaching the Wayland Men's Volleyball program in 2017, and they have qualified for the state playoffs every year since. Simply put, success has followed Phil wherever he has gone, and he is eager to grow the UVC boys program.

  • ALLISON TERI - DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS

    Allison Teri keeps all the wheels turning at UVC!

    She serves as the Director of Communications, overseeing all communications, team travel, and general inquiries. She is the point of contact for any general UVC related questions.

  • Natalie Reid - Girls 15-18 Assistant Director

    Natalie Reid is a Massachusetts native raised in a “volleyball family”. She played at both Framingham State and then Rhode Island College as a starting setter. Natalie has been Coaching club for the past 5 years from 15-18s with a focus on positive team culture and leadership development. Natalie’s love for club volleyball grew only further through tournament directing for NEAAU Volleyball. She also coaches girls volleyball at her alma mater, Bishop Feehan, as a freshman coach and more recently varsity assistant with a focus in program setter development. Bishop Feehan has earned 4 CCL titles as well as an elite 8 finish this past season. Natalie also coordinates Phenom Summer Camp as well as Bishop Feehan Volleyball Camps and skills clinics. More recently, Natalie’s passion for supporting the entire athlete brought her overseas to train and support highschool female athletes and female coaches displaced due to war.
