Emily Ibarra
Head Coach 13 Black
Emily will be leading our 13 Black team this season! Emily is a passionate coach and seasoned Libero/Defensive Specialist (DS) with a strong foundation from Simmons University.
With three years of coaching experience, she brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to the court, aiming to foster growth and success among her players. Her coaching philosophy centers around creating a positive and supportive environment where players can thrive. We are excited to follow her success this season!
Sophie Hester
Assistant Coach 13 Blue
Coach Sophie an Outside Hitter/DS will be assisting Elizabeth this season working with our 13 Blue team! Sophie brings a great energy in the gym and fosters development, teamwork, and a resilient attitude. Her favorite drill “Dig or Die” embody these philosophies and we are excited to have her working with our players this season!
Off the court, chips and dip hold a special place in her heart along side her favorite movie "Cars 2" .
Illiana Diaz
Head Coach 13 Navy
We are excited to have Coach Illiana leading our 13 Navy team this season! Illiana is bringing her Right Side Hitter/Middle Blocker expertise from Simmons University as well as two years of coaching experience to our gym.
Her coaching philosophy centers around precision and adaptability, values reflected in her favorite drill, the dynamic "USA Drill."
Illiana’s emphasis for this season will be around growth, teamwork, and shared love for the game. She understands the importance of skill, creativity, and a good team culture!
Carolina Rodriguez
Assistant 13 Black
Coach Carolina will be joining Emily working with our 13 black team this season! With two years of coaching experience she brings a blend of skill and passion to the court, committed to creating an environment where players can thrive and succeed.
One of Carolina’s favorite drills, "Two Touch," embodies her coaching philosophy, emphasizing precision, communication, and teamwork in every play! A great drill for getting athletes both moving and talking.
Off the court, you can find her enjoying her favorite food of rice with a potato stew or during her downtime, you'll find her captivated by her favorite movie "Coraline.”
Coach Joenissa an Outside Hitter/Libero from Simmons University will be leading our 13 national team this season! With 4 years of coaching experience and an enthusiasm for the game she is excited to foster an environment of growth for our athletes.
Her coaching philosophy centers around adaptability and skill development, epitomized by her favorite drill, "Chaos," which challenges players to thrive in dynamic and unpredictable situations.
Off the court, she loves watermelon and in her down time can be found watching her favorite movies "Corpse Bride" and "Black Swan".

Jayla parnell
Assistant Coach 13 National
With six years of coaching experience, including three years at UVC, Jayla brings a wealth of knowledge and a true love for the game of volleyball. We are so excited to have her join our staff working with our 13 National team this season!
Her coaching philosophy emphasizes precision and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Among her favorite drills is the intense and competitive "USA Drill," designed to hone various skills while fostering a strong team spirit (and a lot of communication)
Elizabeth Canon
Assistant Coach 14 Blue
Elizabeth is a versatile coach and joins UVC with 5 years of indoor and 3 years of beach coaching experience.
Her coaching philosophy centers around fostering growth and success on the court, drawing from a diverse range of experiences and a commitment to excellence.
Her favorite drill is the dynamic and challenging "Playing with Two Balls," designed to enhance agility, coordination, and overall team synchronization!
Erin Higdon

Coach Higdon will be assisting 13 Navy this season!
Coach Higdon has worked a number of camps and clinics for UVC over the years and is excited to continue her coaching career as an assistant for 13 Navy!
